ceased publication with its June 29, 2015 issue, after completing 19 years of continuous coverage of the magazine business, with a particular focus on the retail distribution channel. We will continue with an occasional blog about the industry, as events warrant, and they will be available here on our website. Harrington Associates will also continue to manage BIPAD, the magazine industry's unique numbering system, and we will continue to offer services to the business as requested.

The New Single Copy is the publishing industry's leading source of news, data, and information about publications, the retail marketplace, and the changes brought on by digital delivery technology. Published 23-times annually, it is delivered on Monday morning, by e-mail, or fax. The New Single Copy has been published continuously since July 1996. It is written by John Harrington, who has been involved in the magazine business for over 35 years. The cost of an annual subscription is $450 (U.S.).
The BIPAD numbering system is a magazine industry-unique program. The numbers are encoded in the UPC barcode on magazine covers and used by magazine wholesaler-distributors and retailers to process the publications through their handling systems. This includes receiving, recording sales, counting returns, and recording sales for future allocations.
The BIPAD numbering system is managed for BIPAD, on a contract basis, by Harrington Associates, LLC.
